About

Procyon Services

A Chicago-based IT consulting firm built on one principle: actual intelligence for better work, better support, and better workplaces.

The Founder

Paolo Urizar

Paolo Urizar spent 25+ years inside high-stakes financial services environments — managing global relocations, building support organizations from the ground up, and leading through the kind of disruption that doesn't tolerate failure. That experience is what Procyon Services is built on.

It's also what makes Procyon uncommon: a Latino-owned firm operating at the enterprise level, in an industry where that combination is still rare. Paolo built this firm to do serious work — and to make that work accessible to the organizations and communities that shaped who he is.

Procyon Services works alongside a select group of experienced partners whose expertise spans IT specializations in service management, workplace technology, infrastructure, and cybersecurity among others.

Based in Chicago. Supporting organizations locally and beyond.

Operating Philosophy

Examine • Fix • Become

Procyon Services operates on a disciplined, repeatable principle: examine environments with clarity and honesty, fix what is broken with precision and empathy, and become the support, leadership, or operating capability required — whether through direct involvement or by building bespoke teams.

We do not sell process. We design calm operations and make them sustainable.

Principles that emerged from the work

"Operational clarity precedes scrutiny."

Organizations that are audit-ready don't scramble when scrutiny arrives. Clarity has to come first — before the stakes are raised.

"Stability becomes defensible — not assumed."

In regulated environments, stability isn't just a feeling — it needs to be demonstrable. Structure and governance make it something you can point to.

How We Engage

Three engagement models

Pricing is based on scope, responsibility, and outcomes — not time alone. Every engagement is tailored to what the organization actually needs.

Structured access to experienced judgment — for organizations that need a trusted advisor on demand. Hourly engagement for strategic questions, assessments, or decision support.

Defined-scope projects with clear deliverables and outcomes. Monthly retainer or project-based. Appropriate for assessments, transformations, relocations, and governance builds.

Fractional or embedded leadership for organizations that need sustained operational presence. Procyon Services acts as the support leadership function — accountable for outcomes, not just advice.

Procyon Services also works with nonprofit organizations and community-anchored institutions at accessible engagement structures. The work is the same. The expectation of rigor does not change.

Procyon’s Proprietary Success Framework

What success actually looks like

Most IT engagements measure success with ticket counts and satisfaction surveys. This framework was built around a different standard — observable changes in how leaders behave, how teams operate, and how support is experienced before and after the work is done.

"Success exists when leaders, teams, and systems work together with clarity, calm, and trust — even in complex or high-pressure environments."

01

Calm Leadership

Leaders are not managing support — they are relying on it.

02

Clear Accountability

Ownership is unambiguous. Everyone knows who is responsible for what.

03

Operational Calm

Escalations are exceptions, not the default mode of operation.

04

Human-Centered Support

Colleagues feel respected, heard, and supported in every interaction.

05

Confident Decision-Making

Leadership has the information it needs to make decisions without second-guessing IT.

06

Durable Operations

Changes hold. The support model sustains itself after the engagement ends.
